The Spencer House Dining Chairs

A set of twelve George II carved mahogany dining chairs, circa 1756-58, almost certainly designed by John Vardy, the carving probably executed by Thomas Vardy. Supplied to John Spencer, later 1st Earl Spencer (1734-83), almost certainly for the Great Eating Room at Spencer House, London.

Purchased at auction on behalf of a private collector.
