The Chesterfield Commode

A George III marquetry and ormulo-mounted commode, attributed to Mayhew & Ince, circa 1777, the scagliola top possibly by Simone Setti and mid-17th century. Almost certainly supplied to Philip Sanhope, 5th Earl of Chesterfield (1755-1815), for Chesterfield House, London. 

Purchased at auction on behalf of a private collector.
