Welcome to Corfield Morris.
This newsletter launches the re-brand of Corfield Morris.
It shows a new brand rationale that has been developed for an international market presence, which is coordinated to see the launch of our new US office, based in New York. The New York office will be headed by Haley B. Felchlin who will act as our ambassador in the US market.
The origins of the new brand have been inspired by 18th century engravings from some of Britain's leading designers and architects, and also by the emerging sophisticated styles where key pieces of fine art or antiques are used to a stunning effect within contemporary interiors.
At our new web site www.corfieldmorris.com, you will be able to learn more about us and our philosophy and our services.
The recommendations page, which will be updated on a regular basis, highlights specific items that offer true quality, value for money and investment opportunities at all financial levels.
September Calendar
September sees the new auction season getting off to an exciting start with some wonderful objects coming onto the market throughout the UK. The highlights of which include a two-day sale of property from Woburn Abbey, the home of the Dukes of Bedfordshire; a sale dedicated to Gillows, the prolific firm of cabinet-makers based in Lancaster and London; and a sale entitled 'The Age of Oak and Walnut' inspired by a pioneering book written on the subject published in the early 20th century.
We would be delighted to guide you through these, or any other events and look forward to assisting you in any way we can.
If you have the time we would obviously appreciate any feed back on our new web site and brand, and please forward our web address to anyone you might know who would be interested in our services.
Kind regards
Tim Corfield and Daniel Morris

A particular hightlight from the September sales are these stunning George III dinning chairs.
Ref:42
A set of eleven George III mahogany dining chairs, circa 1790
This highly sophisticated set of dining chairs was almost certainly commissioned by Francis, 5th Duke of Bedfordford, for Woburn Abbey. The chairs were designed by the leading architect-designer Henry Holland and executed by the fashionable Parisian-trained chair-maker Francois Herve. These really are a remarkably sophisticated model and come with a wonderful provenance. Highly recommended.
